On this rainy day in Singapore, my dearest Pocket Loox has departed me for servicing after a crash with my CF 802.11b WLAN card and has fractured an LCD screen. Total cost of renovation: SGD 391. I am shocked and broke so I won’t be able to use my Loox for another few weeks until I receive my new pay!
As for IMDb I agree with Che-Wing, it got worse, but as I communicated with their team: a good quality service like IMDb can only continue if they get money coming in. Advertisers don’t feel that a normal banner is effective anymore, so popup/flash is the alternative. If you want good service, you’ll have to suffer the annoyances. Oh, and ofcourse if you don’t want the annoyances but you do want the good service, you can always Register as a Pro member. I have actually considered becoming an IMDb Pro member, but the add-on value is slightly too low for the amount. If only they gave more add-on besides for the entertainment industry, I’d have made the move already.
My website has just been expanded with a new feature: “Photos“, allowing our team-members to share pictures with everyone else. Well, there’s a few limitations:
- I dont have the layout integrated yet, and I’m not sure how easy/hard this is going to be
- We have to limit file-size for bandwidth and webspace limitations
So, we have to cycle the available pictures regularly. I think my idea is to put the Photos on another host where I’ve got only 100MB but no problems about bandwidth. Let’s just see how things go first. Once I’ve figured that it’s becoming too much bandwidth, I will transfer it.
Anyways, my Penang Snake Temple pictures are in there too! So do check them out!

Today we decided to go see “28 Days Later“, a quite interesting flick about a virus spreading across the world, changing everyone into raged zombies. I hadnt experienced much of the hype and was therefore quite “objective” about the movie. It’s an ok-type of movie which resembles a lot from already existing movies. Like, I thought it looked a lot like “Reign Of Fire“, where in the latter case, dragons conquered the world, killing everything left and those who survived are trying to fight the monsters and stay alive, looking for other survivors. Exactly what this was about as well
Nevertheless, entertaining.
Oh, what else did I do? The day before yesterday, I watched “My Girl” and I only have one word for it: “Awwwwwwwwwwww…”, a very very sweet show and I LOVED it
Yesterday, I watched “Sphere“, written by my favourite author: Michael Chrichton. Then today I also watched “The Mexican“, while ironing my clothes.
As some of you may know, the month of Ramadan is coming soon, followed by what they call here “Hari Raya Puasa“, which means the celebration after fasting. During this month, all your friends and relatives can come over and ofcourse, the house needs to be sparkling clean then. Well, the lady of this house has already started “spring cleaning” a couple of weeks back, so its my turn to get started! Otherwise, I will have to do it while fasting, and then things just become slightly more “tiring”. So, thats what keeps me occupied for the while: cleaning!
Now its about time to say: “It’s FRIKKIN late”, so I’d better get some rest now! Blog ya later!
Just found this website through last week’s edition of LockerGnome, my favorite newsletter. They reviewed a website called “A Picture’s Worth“, which should be followed by the URL of the website: “A thousand Words“, and its true.
One of the entries called “Dreamy Tyler“, talks about Tyler, a boy diagnosed with cancer causing him to be bald. Kids make fun of him, laugh or hit his hat off, showing his bald head.. His mother decided to contact all the major baseball and hockey-teams, trying to get him caps signed by the players.. Read the story, it touched me!

And I as well have been on a short trip! My goodness, it seems like everyone is going for cool trips
Well, mine was rather “last-minute”.. The day before yesterday I received a call from one of my bosses (dont ask me why I have more than 1 boss
) and he asked me whether I could go to Penang for a conference. I’m like sure no problem, when do you need me to go? To which he responded: Tomorrow..
So yesterday I flew by Singapore Airliness BUSINESS CLASS to Penang Malaysia to arrive at the airport at 9:45 in the morning, grab a taxi, arrive at the hotel around 10:45 and do a presentation on Grid in Bio-Informatics at 11:00-11:45! After having had lunch I was done!!
So, instead of opening my laptop and watch a movie for a while, I decided to be more.. Cultural!
I decided to look around and see what’s to do in Penang..
Well, that was more than I couldve imagined..

Do you still remember the video at the Internet Helpdesk? Well, I just saw an email in my mailbox about the same problem.. The subject said: “Why call center guys are paid so much..”

So since I couldn’t keep it from you and since Sushi CAN spoil, here’s a picture of what Nemo ended up as after the movies.
Btw, funny that the most popular page for Sushi according to Google is in Germany (http://www.sushi.infogate.DE/)
